  2. Sentence Dictation Units 1-5 On the following slide is the entire dictation for the first 5 spelling units. The paragraphs will be graded on spelling grammar and handwriting. As the year progresses, the number of sentences given in the study guide will be reduced, however the number of sentences tested will remain the same. On the following slide, just click the “speaker” and listen to the sentences while you practice each unit.

  4. Check your work! Unit 1: They stood still while they were in a long line. Then there was a very funny soundnext to them. What might be along the side of them? Should they all go home right away? Unit 2: We never thought we would see what we saw today. There they were just below us in the water! Both of us will have something very important to tell our friends. They can come to the river to see, too. Unit 3: They say that this show must be held in a very large place. Then more than just a few can go to see it. Those who go too late must wait in line for a long time. This is because there are always lots of people. Unit 4: The two of you often get together at their house after school. You might be asked to go over there again soon. Why don’t you plan to come here next time instead? It would be something a little different. Unit 5: Where in the world are you going? I don’t want you to forget to do your homework. Always remember how important that is. School comes first, but then there is time for you to play with others.
