It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.”

Brief Introduction to APCEIU Establishment • The Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) was established in 2000 to promote EIU for Learning to Live Together in the Asia-Pacific region according to the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and UNESCO.

23. What is EIU? • The most representative UNESCO educational program launched since its beginning in 1946 • Priority has been changed, but three core principles are still effective: • Respect of diversity • Respect of Universal Values – Human rights, Peace, Environment • Non-violent way of conflict resolution
