  1. Technology to make the job easier a little anyway….

  2. What tha…..?

  3. What do you do? • Scream to the Blue Screen God of the Internets. • E-mail Kyle Rickansrud and tell him how he is infringing on your rights and make him feel guilty. • Tell your Principal, that “The Technology Office won’t let me do it.” • Make obscene gestures at your computer. • Take a screen shot of the blue screen (Print Screen), paste the image in a Word document and send it to filter@ccps.org requesting unblocking with a reason why.

  4. Demo In the meantime….?

  5. Office 2010: stuck, now what? • Don’t use that feature, blame the Technology Department, and – use something you do know. • E-mail Kyle Rickansrud and tell him how you hate the new Office, you want to go back to Office ’97, and make him feel guilty. • E-mail Wally Wills and tell him how you hate the new Office, you want to go back to Office ‘97, and while he is at it, get rid of PowerSchool. • Check Atomic Learning and office.microsoft.com for help. • Work with your administrator to purchase an Office 2010 reference book to share in the main office.

  6. Wikispaces: what is it good for? • It is great in spaghetti sauce and a dash is wonderful in a salad! • Organizing a closet? • One of those young whipper-snapper thingamabobs. • A web space where a team of people can collaboratively create and update a site with valuable information.

  7. How to get to going • Outline your purpose – ID what will and will not be posted. • Guidelines for use. • Make it private and send out invites. • Divide up the work – you may be the creator of the site, but do not have to be the sole ‘updater.’ • TUST rep is a great resource as well as Wiki help. • E-mail key departments to see if they have one and if you can join. Be selective as too many Wikis is unmanageable.
