  • The open ocean is located passed the coastal waters.
  • It is the deeper areas of the ocean

  • Temperature: 0° to 40° C
  • Salinity: 35 parts per thousand
  • Depth: The depth varies between 200 to 11,000 meters.
  • Water Flow: There are warm ocean currents

  • Phytoplankton are the base of the food web.
  • The zooplankton eat the phytoplankton.
  • The larger organisms eat the zooplankton.
