MEMBERSHIP DRIVE • Membership is the most important source of revenue. • Large membership base also gives legitimacy for the representation of the sector. • FIEO (NR) took the scientific approach of finding members who have not paid membership fee, sending them letter to be followed by telephone calls. This has been repeated every month.

DGFT offices in the region (CLA – 882) • Segregating members and non-members from the list (441 non member) • Sending letters for becoming members (12 status holders have become members till date)

We have sent request to 2951 exporters for becoming member of FIEO. (Ex. AEPC) • Sending letters to old members of FIEO who are no longer registered with FIEO (approx. 2500) • Discussing the possibilities of opening Chapter Office at Jaipur

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE (contd.) • ACHIEVEMENTS • 89% of total membership target achieved by October 2011, which is 9% higher than that of last year • One Premier Trading House was admitted (Kundan Rice Mills) – For many years NR had only 4 Premier Trading Houses as members • 2811 members have paid membership fee till 31/10/11

QMS Documents • Request for review/ modification • MDA - Time Norm for scrutiny and issuance of approval letters may be increased from one day to five days as per MDA guidelines. – Some times RCMC copy is not given or some other deficiency is there which is required to be collected before issuing approval letter. When MDA guideline is giving 5 days for issuing such letters, we may stick to it. • Condition of issuance of reminders if the claim is not lodged by exporter may be deleted. – If he is claiming the MDA, it is his responsibility to submit the claim in time. As per guideline, 90 days are given to submit the claim whereas as per ISO, we need to issue reminder within one month. Exporters are already aware of MDA guidelines.
