  1. Last Ones Standing Catherine Burgess

  2. What is the Genre of the Film? • I have chosen to do a crossover between an action film and a romance. It will have elements of the two in with fighting scenes, however two of the characters will also find love. It will also involve death scenes and darker themes which also crosses over into the thriller genre.

  3. Ideas for the title sequence • I am going to make my title sequence a series of images and edit them together to make it a continuous piece. I’m not going to use actual people as I don’t feel that they are needed to portray the message I am trying to give, I also think that unless the people casted are willing enough it doesn’t look effective • The images will be of sinister looking rooms, a blueprint for a house and pages of application forms for a games show.

  4. Example of an Existing title Sequence • An example of an existing film within the same genre as my proposed film is the Hunger Games. • However, this title sequence isn't a very useful guide as it is quite a traditional in that it doesn’t feature characters or images giving us an insight into what it will be about. Instead it is just a patterned background with the titles over the top. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgiYtWuTSrU

  5. Codes and Conventions of the Genre • Thriller: Low key lighting, eerie music, quick cuts, tension music. • Action: Fast paced, tension, suspense, quick and jolty movements. • Romance: Forbidden love

  6. Target Audience • Something the family can watch together so not too gory. • Males: the action scenes will appeal to them • Females: the romance elements will appeal to them. • I would aim at mainly teens aged 15 and above.

  7. Mood Board

  8. Sound • I will use a piece of music over the top. However I haven't found a suitable one yet.

  9. Challenges • Finding a piece of music that will fit in with the images and is relevant to the genre • Finding people that look diverse • Accurately getting across the intentions for the film in the title sequence alone

  10. Target Date • I hope to be finished by the deadline. • I also hope to have filmed and be onto editing, allowing myself two extra weeks to cover anything that may go wrong or set me back

  11. I will be satisfied of.. • My title sequence looks effective • The actual sequence looks in real life how envisioned it in my head.
