1. AFM - 2006 Round 1 - Buttonwillow Raceway March 26th

2. 600 Superbike • The Pacific Track Time Sponsored 600 Superbike class was the first chance to see the fastest middleweight racers on the West Coast go head to head. PTT owner and Formula Pacific Racer Mike Earnest, was making his way down the hot pit wishing the racers well and no doubt doing some last minute mental coaching. Mike is great about sharing his knowledge and is able to give it in a way that leaves a focus and a smile on the recipient • Row One had Chris Siglin and Andy Carman slated for the first two spots and both were “no shows” as they had moved onto other classes. The great battles between these two will be limited to other classes. Ryan Teixeira claimed the pole in the middle of row one with Jeff Tigert on his Honda and Berto Wooldridge on the outside. John Daley, now sporting # 102, Grant Riggs on the Jelly Belly/ Bike World Suzuki Gixxer, David Glenn on his new ex-Arclight machine and Tim Kamholz, once again on one of the cleanest bikes in the field (Honda) finishing off the front two rows in a 50 plus rider field that had some good talent and always delivers a great show!

4. The #5 of Jeff Tigert shot off the line first with Teixeira, Riggs, and Wooldridge making up the gang into Turn 1. There was no doubt Tigert had the hole shot and he moved around Turn 2 quickly stretching a little gap on the still shuffling battle behind. Riggs won the battle and claimed second as Lenny Hale rocketed into the group, which also was to include Ken Hill making the most of his Row 4 start. • One bike went down in the Bus Stop and everyone breathed easy when the rider got up and walked away to the clapping hands of fans and officials. • Tim Kamholz was looking to start his year off right and moved to 4th getting by Wooldridge. Hale was up to third with an outstanding run, with Teixeira holding off Hill in a heated battle. Veteran Tim Kamholz Jeff Tigert was fast all day.

5. Net-Moto / Bay Area Riders Forum Racing’s Bobby Fong was moving in from Row Three to join the group as he passed David Glenn and Matt Eccleston. • Zenzo Tazawa and Jeff Chalmers were right behind these two and the top ten was going at it. The lap times were close and the racing proved it. The race to Turn One had Tigert at the front. (Below) Ryan Teixeira was styling and found some new friends to play with.

6. Hale passed Riggs and Hill managed to do the same as we saw some intense racing and shuffling in the top ten and the battle for the Top 5. Fong worked by Teixeira and then Kamholz , as last years Top Novice had his San Jose Yamaha R6 working well after just getting his first ride on it the Friday before. • While Tigert stormed along out front, the Honda of Ken Hill was beginning to reel in Hale. Meanwhile Riggs was starting to feel Fong, as he was on his tail and beginning to apply pressure. Hill made it Honda’s one-two up front when he got by Hale. Fong made his way by Riggs and Kamholz followed and now was on Riggs as they went thru the Riverside Banking. • Fong was closing on Hale and over the Lost Hills he got close enough to make a plan. Brant Wiwi also had a plan and he was storming towards the top ten. Riggs, Hill and Fong do battle Net-Moto’s Bobby Fong

7. When the ½ way flags were thrown Tigert was well in front holding about 5 seconds on Hill. Fong had moved by Hale to hold onto third. Hale, Kamholz and Riggs were going at it and must have been having some big fun. Kamholz eventually made a pass stick and that brought Riggs to Hale’s tail and the fight stayed intense. Tigert ruled, Hill was secured in second with Fong holding pace in third. The Honda of Kamholz had a couple of bike lengths on Hale as they took the White Flag. Riggs stuffed it inside Hale on the entry of Turn 1 and claimed the 5th spot. • An impressive run by all 3 of the top riders and with all three side by side on the front row, the action at Infineon should be an even better show. • Results: • 1. 8. Formula IV • Grid: • Row 1: Kurt Spencer, John Daker, Michael Metcalf, Mike Lohmeyer and Ian Gillies • Row 2: Aaron Tulchinsky, Shawn Reilly, Evan Lessuk, and Everett Dittman • The Zoom Zoom Trackdays sponsored class really caught on last year and we had some epic battles between not only the top riders, but racers thru out the grid. Class Champion Brian Long was not on hand to defend his title and Kurt Spencer who was wearing his new # 10 plate had the inside line for the charge to the first turn. Reilly had taken a win last year as had Lohmeyer so we were ready to see green. Mark Elrod on his ‘95 Honda and below Jeff Hoeppner on a ’06 Kawasaki

9. When the green dropped the large field stormed away toward Turn One and the new season for this class was off and rocking. The battle for the front was not long lived as Spencer left Dakar and began to claim the spot as his own. This did not mean the race was done by any means as the racers behind had thing to settle. • The group included Dittman, David Raff , Aaron Tulchinsky Gillies, Dorsey, Lohmeyer, and Lessuk. A small gap had another few at it as well with several mixing it up. Dittman and Tulchinsky continued to dice for the second spot and the rest of the top ten were all over each other as well with a good battle emerging between veterans Tom Dorsey and Lohmeyer. • At the ½ way flags Spencer had his position fairly secure with Dittman and Tulchinsky behind, who were making a race of it …both wanting that second spot. Raff was 4th and closing with Lessuk and then the Dorsey / Lohmeyer feud with Jay Avansino ready to join the battle as well… Yeahaw!!!.... Shawn Reilly on rails. Avansino and Dorsey battle

10. David Civiello was ahead of Gillies and Wheeler as they went at it to claim a top ten spot. Raff moved by Tulchinsky and then worked around Dittman for the white flag with Spencer still the man out front. • At the ½ way flags Spencer had his position fairly secure with Dittman and Tulchinsky behind, who were making a race of it …both wanting that second spot. Raff was 4th and closing with Lessuk and then the Dorsey / Lohmeyer feud with Jay Avansino ready to join the battle. • Behind David Civiello was ahead of Gillies and Wheeler as they went at it to move up from their late top ten spot. We saw multiple bikes side by side thru the Riverside banking and some wild action thru the Lost Hills..love this shi*! • Raff moved by Tulchinsky and then worked around Dittman for the white flag with Spencer still the man out front. Kurt Spencer took control early and went on to a convincing win. Vik Anderson led a train in the battle for the second ½ of the top ten positions.

11. Dorsey and Lohmeyer were still at it and looked to be enjoyed the hell out of their first romp in the Lessuk as well. Lohmeyer was not to be denied and got the job done over Dorsey with Avansino finding a hole to move by before the checkers as well to claim the 6th spot. • We found a couple of new names near the front and on the podium, but Lohmeyer has had success in this class before and worked hard to gather points so this class is sure to see some shaking up as we move to other tracks. • Results: • 1.
