Lo queremos para nuestros hijos, nietos. • Introduction. A. The golden dream of every Christian – to have a family that is faithful to God. We want it for our children, grand-children.

Piadoso: eusébeia, aquella piedad que, caracterizada por una actitud en pos de Dios, hace aquello que le es agradable a El. 2 Ped. 1:3, 6, 7; 3:11 (acciones de piedad) • B. Godly: eusébeia, that piety which, char-acterized by a Godward attitude, does that which is well-pleasing to Him. 2 Pet. 1:3, 6, 7; 3:11 (acts of Godliness).

The Godly family does not want to displease God. 1 Sam. 11:7, “And the fear of the LORD fell on the people, and they came out with one consent.”

Luc. 9:57-62, no dicen “te seguiré, pero déjame que primero” • II. There is a spiritual atmosphere if there is an atmosphere of reverence and fear of God. They give priority to spiritual matters. Lk. 9:57-62, don’t say, “I will follow you, but first let me do something else.”

No dominada por TV, estéreo, deportes, plática de “artistas” de películas y otros mundanos. • A. There is no worldly and carnal atmosphere, Gal. 5:19-21, but rather spiritual, 5:22, 23, 26. Not dominated by TV, stereo, sports, talk about movie “stars” and other worldly people.

La esposa teme a Dios, 1 Ped. 3:2, es reverente; v. 5, sujeta al marido; se preocu-pa por la salvación del marido, v. 1; su belleza principal es interna, v. 3, 4. • C. The wife fears God, 1 Pet. 3:2; she is reverent; v. subject to her husband; is concerned about his salvation, v. 1; her principal beauty is internal, v. 3, 4.

  15. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • D. El marido también teme a Dios, no quiere que su oración sea estorbada, v. 7. Por eso, vive con su esposa con comprensión y consideración. • D. The husband also fears God, he does not want his prayer to be hindered, v. 7. There-fore, he lives with his wife with compre-hension and consideration.

Su palabra es la regla perfecta para ella. • E. They recognize that the family is designed and directed by God, Gen. 2:18-25. He knows what is best for the family. His word is the perfect standard for it.

  17. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • III. Hay ambiente de respeto mutuo. A. Para lograrlo, cada uno debe negarse a sí mismo, Marcos 8:34. • III. There is an atmosphere of mutual respect. A. To accomplish it, each one should deny himself, Mark 8:34.

The family relation is much better if each one says “no” to his own interests and is concerned about the others.

Esto produce una familia feliz. Este es el amor genuino. • D. The faithful family practices the “golden rule” (Matt. 7:12). Treat the others as you want to be treated. This produces a happy family. This is genuine love.

They are kind to each other. They practice courtesy. They are amiable. They use words seasoned with salt, Col. 4:6.

Si no se practica en el hogar, ¿cómo se espera encontrarlo en la iglesia? • F. They have a profound love for each other. Eph. 5:28; Titus 2:4; 1 Cor. 13:4-7. If it is not practiced in the home, how can we expect to find it in the church?

Marido-esposa se comunican bien, ellos con los hijos, los hijos unos a otros y con sus padres. • IV. The godly family can communicate effectively. Husband-wife communicate well, they with the children, the children with each other and with their parents.

Hijos se alejan de sus padres, y padres no tienen influencia sobre ellos. • A. There is great danger here. Marriages and families fail for not communicating as they should. Children become distant, and parents do not have influence over them.

  25. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • B. 1 Ped. 3:7, “vivid con ellas con comprensión”. Pero ¿cómo será posible esto si no hay buena comunicación entre ellos? Lo mismo con los hijos. • B. 1 Pet. 3:7, “dwell with them with under-standing.” But how can this be possible if there is no good communication between them? Same with regard to the children.

Me deja desesperada”. “Sí, pero ¿cómo voy a hablar si ella está hablando todo el tiempo?” No hay comunicación. • “He is all closed up, very quiet. He doesn’t say anything. He leaves me in desperation.” “Yes, but how am I going to talk if she is talking all the time?” There’s no communi-cation.

  27. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • C. No simplemente platicar, sino compartir pensamientos, sentimientos, deseos, temores, ansiedades. Que no digan después “No me imaginaba que tú pensabas así”. • C. Not simply talk, but share thoughts, feelings, desires, fears, anxieties. So that later on they won’t say, “I never imagined that you felt that way.”

  28. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • D. Buena comunicación requiere el escuchar… con atención, con sincero interés. Sant. 1:19, “pronto para oír, tardo para hablar”. Muchos no saben escuchar. • D. Good communication requires much listening… and with attention, with interest. James 1:19, “swift to hear, slow to speak.” Many do not know how to listen.

  29. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • E. Algunos “no dejan meter baza a nadie”. (No se puede meter palabra aun “de lado”). Lo que dicen es verdad… pero el problema es que saben MUCHA verdad. Celulares. • E. Some “won’t let others get in a word edgewise”. What they say is the truth… but the problem is they know A LOT of truth. Cell phones.

  30. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • F. Escuchar con calma. Prov. 29:22, “El hombre iracundo suscita contiendas, y el furioso comete muchas transgresiones”. Gritar no es comunicar. • F. Listen calmly. Prov. 29:22, “An angry man stirs up strife, And a hot-tempered man abounds in transgression.” Shouting is not communicating.

  31. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • G. Ser razonable. Tratar de ver el asunto desde el punto de vista del otro. Mat. 7:12. No hacer acusación sin prueba. No exagerar • G. Be reasonable. Try to see the matter from the viewpoint of the other person. Matt. 7:12. Don’t make unfounded accusations. Don’t exaggerate.

  32. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • V. Que cada uno acepte el papel que le corresponde. A. Marido – cabeza, Efes. 5:22-24. No dictador, no cruel (Col. 3:19), sino director que ama y provee para su familia. • V. That each one accept his assigned role. A. Husband – head, Eph. 5:22-24. Not a dic-tator, not cruel (Col. 3:19), but rather a director that loves and provides for his family.

  33. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • B. La esposa – sujeta al marido, como la iglesia está sujeta a Cristo. Contenta como ama de casa, 1 Tim. 5:14; Tito 2:3-5. • B. The wife – subject to her husband, as the church is subject to Christ. Content as a homemaker, 1 Tim. 5:14; Titus 2:3-5.

  34. La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • C. Hijos, obedientes a sus padres, Efes. 6:1-3. Honrar a sus padres. Padres respon-sables de esto, v. 4; Deut. 6:6, 7. Supervisar TV, Internet, música, amigos, escuela. • C. Children, obedient to parents, Eph. 6:1-3. Honor their parents. Parents responsible for this, v. 4; Deut. 6:6, 7. Supervise TV, Internet, music, friends, school.

La Familia Que Es Fiel A Dios The Family That Is Faithful to God • Conclusión: ¿Es fiel su familia? ¿Cómo es el ambiente, carnal o espiritual? ¿Regla de oro? ¿Pueden comunicarse? ¿Acepta cada quien su papel? ¿Hijos son entrenados? • Conclusion: Is your family Godly? How is the atmosphere, carnal or spiritual? Golden rule? Can you communicate? Does each one accept his role? Are children trained?
