  1. DEPARTMENT OF BIOSTATISTICS COLLOQUIUM FALL 2012The Levin Lecture Series Wenqing He, PhD. University of Western Ontario, Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences,. Department of Oncology http://www.stats.uwo.ca/modules/people/faculty_personal.php?fid=15 “Semiparametric Composite Likelihood Methods for Analysis of Clustered Data” Abstract: Clustered data arise commonly in practice and it is often of interest to estimate the mean response parameters as well as the association parameters. However, much research has been directed to address the mean response parameters with the association parameters relegated to a nuisance role. There is relatively little work concerning both the marginal and association structures, especially in the semiparametric framework. In this talk, I will discuss semiparametric composite likelihood methods for analyzing clustered data with or without missing observations. The proposed methodology is evaluated through numerical studies. This is joint work with Grace Y. Yi (University of Waterloo). Biographical Notes: Dr. Wenqing He obtained his Ph. D. from the University of Waterloo in 2002. Before he took the faculty position from the University of Western Ontario in 2004 he worked in Mt Sinai Hospital in Toronto as a Biostatistician. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences at the University of Western Ontario Dr. He’s research focuses on the development of methodology for challenging problems arise in cancer research. His research interests include survival data analysis, analysis of longitudinal data, missing data and measurement error problem, gene expression data analysis and data mining.
