  1. FUEL TV Presents: Custom Solutions Confidential

  2. Introduction FUEL TV. We are always on. We go wherever the lifestyle goes and we can take you with us. FUEL TV has the exclusive access you need and the innovative tools you want in order to reach and engage the very elusive and highly sought–after action sports audience. Together we will engage your target demo in entertaining, memorable ways that deliver the Gatorade message in the same authentic manner we communicate with our viewers. Working from your 2010 brand objectives we brainstormed several innovative ideas that will surprise and delight consumers. We are presenting these ideas as core themes and you’ll see that they are synergistic with your business objectives and connections strategies. And that they will help Gatorade stand out in an authentic way, not by telling our audience about your product, but by demonstrating the functional benefit of it. Our ideas are designed to connect Gatorade on a cultural and emotional level to the true participants. But our process is collaborative. We create tailored-made solutions, not cookie-cutter ones. So we anticipate working with you to scale these ideas to fit your budget parameters, concurrent promotions and to maximize your athlete and event relationships. Together we shall be the brand in everything we do, instead of simply saying it. We will work with you to fuel the drive for athletic achievement in meaningful ways that strengthen and deepen Gatorade ‘s relevancy. And we’ll do all this through an innovative solution that demonstrates the Gatorade commitment to action sports.

  3. Custom Solutions Theme 1: Sessions The act of skating, riding, or surfing a particular street, park, mountain or wave. Sessions are the foundation for exploring and evolving new tricks along with nurturing the camaraderie present in all action sports. When you play for a team, you have practice. When you ride a bike or board, you session. “Sessions” are a daily ritual for core action sports participants. The following concepts give viewers a new perspective on sessions, while also allowing the viewer to participate.

  4. Custom Solutions Variation 1: “Sesh-Cast” A “spontaneous”, but planned flash mob session with 4-5 pro athletes at a well-known riding spot. The session is promoted on-air at FUEL TV and on-line via: Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Text, and E-blasts. All enthusiasts & riders are welcome to attend. The actual session will be Webcast LIVE in HD on fuel.tv for the world to tune-in. Following the webcast FUEL TV will air a :30 minute episode of the session.

  5. Custom Solutions • Variation 2: “Ultimate Sessions” • Iconoclasts meets action sports. A series with two legendary action sports athletes travel to a world-class destination for the “Ultimate Session”. Surf legends Dane & Jordy at Kirra, skate icons Tony & Lance at Black Pearl in the Cayman Islands, to Snowboarders Terje & Travis in Alaska. Two incredible athletes, one incredible destination and the story that brings them together. • Gatorade athletes will have the option to participate in an ultimate session with the person whom they have always wanted to session with, but yet never presented the opportunity.

  6. Custom Solutions • Theme 2: The BreakthroughWhether its the grom who first masters the Olley or a pro creating a new trick, the feeling, motivation and inspiration are the same…Pushing yourself and striving for improvement are powerful dynamics in skateboarding. For many with dreams of pro skating stardom, there is a critical inflection point. The breakthrough video part...it either launches you into the stratosphere or strands you in the oblivion of being on “flow”. • “In skateboarding, your success is not measured in how many contests you win, it’s measured by the tricks you do in your video part.” • - Steve Berra

  7. Custom Solutions • Flow To Pro • The journey from “flow” skater to pro can be long and treacherous. For virtually all who successfully make the transition, they do so by laying down a video part that blows minds. • “Your video part is gonna be how people judge you. Knowing this makes the process of filming tricks pure hell.” – Heath Kirchart • Flow to Pro follows 5 young skaters who aspire to stardom. In an homage to Hoop Dreams, Steve Berra and The Berrics crew will document the lives of these handpicked riders. Issues of race, economic division, geographic location, education and values all come to bare as the riders wrestle with the challenges and importance of filming their breakthrough parts. • Components of the project include TV series, online clip distribution and a core skate film featuring the selected riders.

  8. Custom Solutions Theme 3: Respect Esteem, reverence, homage…honor. In action sports, people and places gain the respect of the community and culture, but there are some that receive neither the requisite recognition or protection. No matter what you ride, bike or board, respect is the common thread throughout action sports. Whether it’s the snowboarding outreach program for at risk kids, the skate park that has fallen into disrepair or the epic wave threatened with destruction by irresponsible developers, they all need and deserve respect.

  9. Custom Solutions Variation 1: Love Park 2 Love Park in Philadelphia, PA was a world renown skate spot featuring numerous granite surfaces, large spaces, and curved steps, which made the park a skateboarding fixture throughout the East Coast. Immediately following the 2002 X-Games, which was a tremendous success, the city closed the park and renovated the entire landscape making it virtually unskateable. FUEL TV and Gatorade will work together to create “Love Park 2”, an exact replica of the infamous Love Park placed in a location in need of a “Skate Heaven”. FUEL TV will document the creation and opening of the park to run on-air and on-line across multiple platforms.

  10. Custom Solutions Variation 2: Leave it better than you found it There are places and people special to action sports, its culture and survival. Protecting and celebrating them doesn’t happen enough…FUEL TV and Gatorade will partner to protect and/or restore a designated place in most need of a savior. Gatorade and FUEL TV will team up to get to viewers involved to save the next beach, snow resort, or park in need. FUEL TV will create a documentary on the initiative to air on network.
