General Info • There are 100 questions covering Chapters 4-6 • There are questions over vocabulary, grammar, and culture for each chapter. • There are a couple of short reading sections. • There is not a writing or listening section on this exam • You may use a 3X5” notecard on the exam. You may include any information you want on it.

  3. Chapter 4A Costa Rica • Re-read all culture sections on pages114,115,116,117 • The Vocabulary for this section can be found on pp 149,121, and 122 • The main grammar concepts from this chapter include: • Indefinite articles un, una, unos, unas (p124-125) • Conjugation of the verb tener (tengo, tienes, tiene, tenemos, tenéis, tienen) and all tener expressions (p126) • The conjugation of the verb venir (vengo, vienes, viene, venimos, venís, vienen) (p128)

  4. Chapter 4B Costa Rica • The Vocabulary for this section can be found on pp149,133, and 134 • The main grammar concepts from this chapter include: • The conjugation of the verb ir (voy, vas, va, vamos, vais, van) and how it is used with the “ir + a+ infinitive” construction (p136) • The present tense of –er and –ir verbs and tag questions (p138) • Some irregular –er and –ir verbs (hacer, poner, traer, saber, ver, and salir) (p140)

Chapter 5A Chile • Re-read all culture sections on pages 152, 153, 154, and 155 • The Vocabulary for this section can be found on pp187 and 159 • The main grammar concepts from this chapter include: • Possessive adjectives : mi, mis, tu, tus, su, sus, nuesto, nuestra, nuestros, nuestras, vuestro, vuestra, vuestros, vuestras, su, sus (p162) • Stem changing verbs: o:ue (dormir, almorzar, volver, llover) (p 164) • Stem changing verbs- e:ie (empezar, merendar, entender, and querer) ( p166)

Chapter 5B Chile • The Vocabulary for this section can be found on pp187, 171 and 172. • The main grammar concepts from this chapter include: • Estar with prepositions (estoy, estás, está, estamos, estáis, están)---remember your preposition hand rhyme (p 174) • Negation with tampoco, nunca, nadie, nada (p176) • The verbs tocar and parecer- they’re used just like gustar…me toca, me parece, tetoca, teparece, etc (p178)

  7. Chapter 6A México • Re-read all culture sections on pages 190, 191, 192, and 193. • The Vocabulary for this section can be found on pp225, 197, and 198 • The main grammar concepts from this chapter include: • Uses of Ser and Estar (p 200) • Stem changing verbs pedir and servir (p 202) • Stem changing verbs preferir, poder, and prober (p 204)

  8. Chapter 6B México • The vocabulary for this section can be found on pp 225, 209, 211 • The main grammar concepts from this chapter include: • Direct Objects and Direct Object Pronouns (p212-213) • Affirmative informal commands (p214) –take the tú form of the verb and drop the –s---also several irregulars • Affirmative informal commands with pronouns (p 216)
