  1. Shock and spicule-like jet October, 7th, 2014 S2 Tetsu Anan

  2. Fibril / spicule コロナ加熱への寄与が注目されている(定量化がIRISの1つの目的) Fibrils in Hα (SST/CRISP) Spicules in CaⅡ (HINODE/SOT) NAOJ/JAXA and Joten Okamoto Jet is one of the most fundamental elements in the upper chromosphere (interface between photosphere and corona) Rouppe van derVoort & de la Cruz Rodríguez 2013 Length 〜 0.1 – 10 Mm Life time 〜 10 – 600 sec

  3. How is upper chromosphere accelerated? Shock (Suematsu et al. 1982) Lorentz force (Martínez-Sykora et al. 2011) Corona Chromosphere Squeezed by the magnetic tension Magnetic reconnection, Alfvén wave, slow-mode wave, fast-mode wave, p-mode leakage, etc. Magnetic reconnection(De Pontieu et al. 2007)

  4. Observational evidence of shock model • Maximum velocity ∝ Deceleration • Coronal hole > Quiet region > Plage region in length Hansteen et al. 2006 40 Simulation Observation 30 20 Maximum velocity (km/s) 10 0 100 60 100 140 60 140 20 20 Deceleration (m/s/s) Deceleration (m/s/s) Shibata & Suematsu 1982, Anan et al. 2010 No direct evidence of acceleration by shock

  5. Research plan • Purpose : First direct observational evidence of acceleration of jet by shock • Data : Time series of spectra obtained by IRIS in Sit-and-stare mode • Spectra of chromospheric lines with high spatial resolution obtained in space (High quality for long time) • Method : • Comparison of slit-time diagrams in intensity, velocity, temperature, and so on (Pereira et al. 2013) Jet Shock Slit Time

  6. Pereira et al. 2013, ApJ, 778, 143 • They obtained relation between feature of MgIIh&k and physical parameters from NLTE radiative transfer calculation conbined with MHD simulation

  7. 2013.8.18, level 1.5 横軸:波長 縦軸:スリット 1330Å

  8. 2013.8.18, level 1.5 横軸:波長 縦軸:時間

  9. Future work • The shoewd data does not have clear evidence of jet in slit jaw images • Please look for • Statistical analysis • Strength of shock vs. velocity of jets=> clear evidence of acceleration of upper chromosphere by shock

  10. to be continued Energy flux Shock strength v.s. length of jet Ratio of jet accelerated by shock ,,,,
