  3. 恐怖主義行為的四個特性： 具有政治目的； 採取該行動者為為非國家團體； 以隨機或無預警之方式對無辜平民使用或威脅使用暴力； 恐怖主義團體不受國際法及國際規範約束，其行為往往具有高度的不可預測性。

  6. 基地（Al Qaeda） • 1989年蘇聯攻打阿富汗後期所創立。目的是訓練和抵抗入侵阿富汗的蘇聯部隊。 • 蘇聯撤出阿富汗以後，宗旨改為消滅全世界入侵伊斯蘭世界的西方國家，以及與西方合作的腐敗伊斯蘭政權。 • 領導人爲沙烏地阿拉伯富商賓·拉登與埃及醫師al-Zawahiri，賓·拉登於2011年5月遭美國擊斃，al-Zawahiri目前下落不明。

  7. 回教祈禱團（Jemaah Islamiah） • 尋求在東南亞建立獨立國的伊斯蘭基本教義派武裝組織。 • Abu Bakar Bashir為創始人與精神領袖，原本是純宗教組織，但在1990年代透過Hambali開始與基地合作。 • 被認為是策劃2002年峇里島爆炸案的幕後組織。

  8. 奧姆真理教（Aum Shinrikyo）オウム真理教 • 由麻原彰晃在1984年創立，是一個融合佛教與基督教教義的新興宗教團體。 • 全盛時期估計有4萬信徒 • 發動1995年東京地鐵毒氣攻擊。 • 1995年後改名為Aleph

  9. 虔誠軍 (Lashkar-e-Taiba) • 目的是終結印度在克什米爾地區的統治。。 • 根據地在巴基斯坦境內的拉合爾附近，並在喀什米爾地區操控著幾個大型的武裝組織。 • 多次對印度發動大型的恐怖襲擊，包括2008年孟買連環攻擊。
