  1. WHAT IS SIMULATION? I T ’ S A 5 - S T E P P R O C E S S PLAN THE STUDY 1 Define the objectives of the study and identify the key questions that need to be answered. Determine the scope of the simulation, the required data, and resources. BUILD THE MODEL AND DEFINE THE SYSTEM 2 Create a computer model of the system to be simulated. Define system boundaries, identify key variables, and specify their relationships. Ensure the model is realistic and simple enough for computer use. CONDUCT EXPERIMENTS 3 Run experiments by varying input variables and observing output variables. Test the model's behavior and record and analyze the results. ANALYZE OUTPUT AND DECODE RESULTS 4 Use statistical methods to identify patterns and trends in the data. Interpret results in the context of the study objectives. ITERATE THE PROCESS 5 If expected outcomes are not met, refine the model based on insights from previous experiments. Repeat the process until the desired outcome is achieved.
