Individuals with cirrhosis of the liver may have few or no symptoms and signs of liver-related disease. Some of the symptoms may be nonspecific, that is, they don't suggest that the liver is their cause. Some of the more common signs and symptoms of liver cirrhosis include:<br><br> Fatigue<br> Bleeding easily<br> Bruising easily<br> Itchy skin<br> Yellow discoloration in the skin and eyes (jaundice)<br> Fluid accumulation in your abdomen (ascites)<br> Loss of appetite<br> Nausea<br> Swelling in your legs<br> Weight loss<br> Confusion, drowsiness, and slurred speech (hepatic encephalopathy)

  1. What are the Signs & Symptoms of Liver Cirrhosis?

  2. Early Stage Symptoms In the early stages, cirrhosis may not cause any symptoms. However, as the disease progresses, you may experience the following: • Fatigue • Weakness • Loss of appetite • Nausea • Weight loss • Pain or discomfort in the upper right abdomen • Redness of the palms of the hands (palmarerythema) • Small, spider-like blood vessels on the skin (spider angiomas)

Later Stage Symptoms • As cirrhosis progresses, you may experience more serious symptoms, including: • Jaundice, a yellowing of the skin and eyes • Fluid buildup in the abdomen (ascites) • Swelling in the legs and ankles (edema) • Easily bleeding or bruising • Confusion or difficulty thinking • Dark urine • Pale stools

  4. Complications • Cirrhosis can also lead to a number of complications, including: • Varicose veins in the esophagus or stomach, which can rupture and cause bleeding • Liver failure • Liver cancer
