  2. Liver Transplantation for a child with rare genetic disorder “Alagille Syndrome”. • This 8-year-old child was only 12 kgs and 105 centimetres, while his actual weight should be about 28 kgs. Child was very frail and extremely high risk for transplantation. Know more: Liver transplantation for a child with rare genetic disorder (pacehospital.com) • "Alagille Syndrome"is an extremely rare genetic disorder seen in less than one in lakh births, in which the bile ducts (canal system) inside the liver does not develop, so the bile accumulates in the liver and the blood. This leads to jaundice, severe itching. And eventually liver failure. It gets transmitted to the children, even if one of the parents has a hidden gene.
