Classroom Management • No food or drinks in classroom during class • Eat breakfast in the cafeteria • Clean up your mess if you eat breakfast in the classroom • Throw breakfast trash in the big container in the hall • No chewing gum in classroom • Make your way to your seat after the two minute bell • After the final bell, class leader calls the flight to attention

  15. Classroom Management • Recite the Pledge of Allegiance • Element Leaders report attendance • Seat the Flight and make announcements • Don’t leave your seat without permission • Don’t ask to go the restroom • Don’t sit on the tables or lean back in the chairs

Uniform Wear • Uniform Wear day is WEDNESDAY • Unless notified otherwise • Uniform combination will be posted each week • First Year cadets who are in 1st and 5th blocks have the option to not wear the Air Force uniform • Have to wear the blue Air Force uniform to be a member of Color Guard, Saber Team, or Drill Team and to attend many of the field trips or to fly aircraft

  17. Cadet Handbook • Drafted by past cadet leadership • Will be reviewed by this year’s cadet leaders • Approved by SASI • Roles, Rules and Responsibilities for cadets • Each cadet issued a copy (paper or electronic) • Posted on SHLS School Point (Col Jones’ page)

Co-Curricular Activities • Color Guard – A 4 or 6 person formation to Present the Colors at selected functions • Drill Team – A 10 person formation (9 mbrs plus the Cmdr) to compete at drill meets • Saber Team – A 12 person formation for school and public ceremonies • Kitty Hawk Air Society – An academically select group that provides tutoring to cadets • Thunderbirds – An elite group of up to 12 who conduct special honors to the Flag at selected events

Other Items • Each flight will have: • A Color Guard • Trained Flag Detail • A Drill Team • Flight Commanders will have flight binders (blue) • Element Leaders will have element binders (green) • Permission Slips will be color-coded • Kitty Hawk meets monthly after school • Cadet Staff meets on Monday during 4th period • Drill/Color Guard practice will be held 2 times per week • Physical Fitness Training every Friday

Uniform Wear by Freshmen • Wear of Air Force blue uniform is optional the entire freshman year • Must wear the uniform to participate in Color Guard, Drill or Saber Team, and attend certain field trips • Decision day will be Sept 1st, 2011 • Once you accept the uniform, you must wear it the rest of the year • Uniform wear by freshmen earns bonus points every week
