• Using the same masses from the “work” table, calculate the kinetic energy of those masses when they hit the ground –dropped from the same distances used in the “work” table.

• Notice:

The work required to lift a mass is equivalent to the kinetic energy of that mass when it hits the ground.

That is, the initial gravitational potential energy associated with an object is equivalent to the kinetic energy of the object when it hits the ground.
