We believe that formation for a life of peace and justice requires:
  • Building the body through traditional and alternative means of being well;
  • Building the mind through academics and education that elevates the whole of humanity;
  • Building the spirit through practicing prayer and reflection and connecting our personal relationship to God to that of our community; and
  • Using the body, mind and spirit that has been given to us to build our community and not just ourselves.
core values
Core Values
  • We respond to the needs of our communities by partnering with the poor, the marginalized and the oppressed for justice and not just provide charity and services.
  • We treat all people: youth, staff and residents as well as those outside of our community and those we do not agree with, with the dignity deserving of children of God.
  • We practice non-violence or “truth force” in both our words and actions.
  • We prioritize and invest in indigenous youth and adult community leadership.
  • We stay and rebuild our communities.
  • We affirm and practice a faith that is just, prophetic and inclusive.
  • We encourage and work towards an organizational culture of excellence, self reflection and openness to change.
  • We are good stewards of all that has been given to us especially, the earth, our time, and our financial resources.

leaders, when the work is done, the task accomplished, the people willsay 'We have done this ourselves.”
