  1. Participants’ Guide Gender Campus online courses

  2. Welcome! In this guide you will find instructions on how to move around in the on-line platform (http://gender.itcilo.org/lms/) It is important that you read it carefully and keep it at hand!

  3. There are three learning options: 1/ Guided Reading 2/ Network Learning 3/ Regular Tutored Course ▲Not all of them are available for each course. You must see the flyer of the course or contact gcu@itcilo.org to inquire.

  4. Option 1: Guided reading • Automaticfeedback system (no tutor) • Requires approximately 5 study/hours per module

  5. As a Guided reader you will… • Step 1: Self-evaluate your knowledge/skills • Step 2: Study the contents • Step 3: “Test” your knowledge • Step 5:Self-evaluate your knowledge/skills again to measure improvements ▲All these tests are automatic.

  6. Option 2: Network learning • Focus on the application of contents in practice • Collective tasks on forum, with group tutorial assistance • Requires an average of 10 study/hours per module.

  7. As a Network learner you will… • Step 1: Self-evaluate your knowledge/skills • Step 2: Study the contents • Step 3: “Test” your knowledge • Step 4: Study a collective task in a forum, with a tutor’s guidance and feed-back • Step 5:Self-evaluate your knowledge/skills again to measure improvement.

  8. Option 3: “Regular” tutored course • Focus on individual or institutional training needs • Individual tutorial assistance • Requires an average of 20 study/hours per module. ▲A Diploma is issued after successful completion of 5 modules.

As a Regular tutored participant you will… • Step 1: Self-evaluate your knowledge/skills • Step 2: Study the contents • Step 3: “Test” your knowledge • Step 4: Perform a written final assignment and get your Tutor’s individual assistance and feed-back • Step 5: Self-evaluate your knowledge/skills again to measure improvement.

  19. The KEYS to the “Test your Knowledge” will appear in your screen after 3 trials:

  20. Step 4: Assignment (for Regular tutored participants) Important! Don’t send your assignment by email, always use this section!

  22. In the Virtual Classroom: My LEARNING CONTRACT records your commitments with respect to the course. This is also where you will see your grades. My CONTACTS: know more about participants and the team! ANNOUNCEMENTS: any important communication about your course may be posted there Other services available: In the Resource Center: • The LIBRARY: find materials for performing your in-depth study • The GLOSSARY: keep it at hand to review common concepts • The BOARD: find successful assignments already stored • The UTILITIES provide you with the software you may need to fully utilize the platform In the Mailbox and forum: • The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) are located there

  23. When you finish your modules… • We will have a virtual graduation ceremony • You will receive certification according to your curriculum and course option Enjoy your course!!!
