  4. While the heritability of IQ has beeninvestigated for nearly a century, controversyremainsregarding the significance of heritabilityestimates, and the mechanisms of inheritanceare still a matter of somedebate.

  6. The average IQ scores for many populations have beenrising at an average rate of three points per decadesince the early 20th century, a phenomenoncalled the Flynn effect.
