  2. Did you know we have 96 staff members that work at Sunset? Who Are We- Staff • Principal- LeAnn Tuupo • Dean of Students- Michelle Larson • Teaching Staff: • ECE (Crossler-Laird, Richards) • Kindergarten (Adams, Montgomery, Pacheco, Stewart, Skroch) • 1st Grade (Bland, Edwins, McKenny, Nelson, Pearson, Scammahorn) • 2nd Grade (Arthur, Bauer, Blastos, Castro, Connolly) • Specialists (Dickens-Library, Diello/Thomas-PE, Bean/Mather-Music) • Support Staff (Counselor, PBSES, LRC, LAP, ELL, Sage, OT/PT/SLP, Office Staff…the list goes on)

  3. Who Are We- Students • 601 Students • 52% Male, 48% Female • 21 Languages spoken in the home • 42 Early Childhood Education Students • 28 K-5 Classrooms • 2 Early Childhood Classrooms • 11 Buses • 2 AM Recesses, 3 Lunches/Recesses and 1 PM Recess • 7 Special Programs to support our students

A Little About Me... • I was born and raised in Renton, just 9 miles from here. • This is my 19th Year in Education, mostly elementary. • My family moved to Issaquah 3 ½ years ago. • My last name is pronounced -- two-poe --. • I am a proud of 3, two of which attend Issaquah High School. • In my “free time” you will find me at a ballfield, walking Maximus, roasting s’mores, or snuggled up with my new kindle.

Student Safety – Before & After School • A few changes to ensure Student Safety… • Pick-Up: • Please stay in your vehicle in the pick-up Lane. • It is very important and necessary that we keep the traffic moving. • Please do not leave your vehicle in the drop-off/pick-up lane for any reason. • If it is necessary to come into the school, please park your vehicle in a designated parking spot. • Please use the crosswalks to move from the parking lot to the sidewalk areas.

Please remember: • Our wonderful Para Professionals may ask you to please move forward if you forget, thank you for being considerate of the others around you. • If you need to park, please leave the handicap spaces for those who need them; please don’t park or even wait for your child without the special permit or license plate on your vehicle.

  10. JOIN THE SUNSET ELEMENTARY PTA - The number one reason to join the PTA is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help this school! Brings the school fun activities and programs Provides Education Enrichment for our children Supports our School Community Raises money to support the program and initiatives This year, we are looking to spend: $12,000 on Grade Level Enrichment $107,750 Grants to School Expenses $ 8,850 on Special Projects and Programs www.sunsetsockeyepta.org
