  1. Expectations from God in a world of Exceptions I Timothy 1:8-11

I Timothy 1:8-11 8  But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 9  knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10  for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, 11  according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

  3. Human Condition • Not accusation, not association. • Actions based on heart interests • ‘The Law of Right’ is the parameter.

  4. Human Redemption • God has ‘Good News’ for the human condition • Jesus entered humanity to deliver people • The Charge is to propagate the message.

  5. Offenses to the 1st Table of the Decalogue: • Lawless and Insubordinate. • Ungodly • Sinners • Unholy • Profane

  6. Offenses to the 2nd Table of the Decalogue: 5thCommandment: Murders of Fathers and mothers – Exodus 21:15,17 6th Commandment: Manslayers (Murders) – Exodus 20:13

  7. Offenses to the 2nd Table of the Decalogue: 7th Commandment:“Thou shalt not commit adultery” Fornicators, (forbidding sexual activity outside of marriage) Sodomites, males in the marriage bed.

  8. Offenses to the 2nd Table of the Decalogue: 8th Commandment forbidding stealing: Kidnappers,Paul’s day the theft of children was commonplace; 9th Commandment, “you shall not bear false witness” Liars, those who ‘WILL NOT’ tell the truth.
