  3. Preparing Your Facility • Notify Commanders • Identify Users, Roles, and Access • Distribute Information

  4. Who Gets the Ball? • Rules Manager • NAS Originator • Reviewer • One Person can be assigned one, two, or all three roles!!

  5. Option 1: Provider Review NAS (Full NAS Functionality) Provider/Providers HBA creates NAS in EWRAS. NAS business rules dictate sequential routing to the Commander or up to one/two/three designees. The providers review and recommend approval or disapproval of NAS. 278 Transaction MCSC • If approved by final reviewer: • NAS approval # is generated • 278 transaction auto fwd to MCSC. MTF HBA • If disapproved: • No NAS number is generated • No 278 is sent • NAS remains on file in EWRAS database Beneficiary request NAS

  7. Option 2: Continuing with Same NAS Business Process • HBAs continue same NAS paper business process at site. • Enter approved NAS in EWRAS vs. DEERS • Continues to file paper copies of NAS signatures for audit purposes

  8. Option 2: Continuing with Same NAS Business Process Provider/Providers • Provider/Providers return NAS paperwork back to HBA. If approved: • HBA creates NAS in EWRAS • Goes to review queue - approves NAS • NAS approval # is generated • 278 transaction auto fwd to MCSC. • Files documents with signatures HBA routes same NAS paper documents requesting signature from MTF Commander or his one/two/three designees MTF HBA 278 Transaction MCSC Beneficiary request NAS MTF File • If disapproved: • Files documents with signatures
