Key Features & Benefits
software for Windows
cables up to 10 m (33 ft) long
The access devices themselves are small, silent, and have no moving parts. Yet they deliver a rich Windows PC experience. Users can enjoy multimedia with sound and full-motion video at screen resolutions of 800x600 and 1024x768. Software applications run simultaneously and independently on each virtual desktop so that users don’t even know they are sharing a PC. Best of all, most software applications run right out of the box, so your staff and users won’t need any special training.
The host system provides all the processing and storage for the client stations
Each Client Machine has the same ability to run applications as the host system : The host system must be on for the client machines to work
The only place to permanently store information with N-Computing is to save to the My Documents folder or place files in the root of the E: drive, the My Documents folder Defaults to the E: drive. If you store files anywhere else they will be DELETED as soon as you restart your machine
Can I as a user install software on my N-computing
No, any software that you install will be lost on restart. Contact Office of Technology if you need something added.
Why are they locked down
The lock down software is to protect the machine from harm and allow it to function like new on a day to day basis. Restart and the machine is reloaded.
Can I save to a USB Pen Drive
Yes the USB function is fully supported on the host machine, by plugging the pen drive into the host machine all clients will be able to access it.
Can all my stations watch a DVD at the same time
Unfortunately no, only one machine can use the DVD capability at any given time.
Is it normal to see errors on startup and shutdown
Yes it is very normal, these errors are present because windows is not accustom to having multiple users log in to the same machine at the same time. Currently this error is not resolvable and must be overlooked
