  5. When you have all of the equal parts you have a whole or one = 1

  6. Well, what does all this fraction stuff have to do with money ?

  7. Sometimes we spend exactly whole dollars $ 3.00

  8. Other times we spend parts (fractions) of a dollar $ . 25

  9. Coins make it easy to spend parts of a dollar because….

  10. Coins are Fractions (parts) of a Dollar ! Half Dollars

  11. Coins are Fractions (parts) of a Dollar ! Quarters

  12. When we need to spend parts of a dollar, we can count on coins because they are Fractions! Fractions of a Dollar !

  13. That way we don’t have to tear, rip, shred, chop, or saw the dollar bill into tiny little pieces !

  14. Fun Fact A penny is worth just 1 / 100 of a dollar. But it weighs more!
