  1. Identity: Declared Righteous by Grace Track: 2

  2. WHO ARE YOU?

  3. What do we mean when we talk about Identity?

  4. Why does Identity matter? • Search for significance • Search for meaning • Search for purpose

  5. Who am I? Three typical answers: I am what I do. I am what I have. I am what others say about me.

  6. If we are dependent on defining ourselves by what we do, what we have, what others say about us…how might this be destructive in leadership?

  7. Who are we in Christ? How are we able to be ‘in Christ?’ For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8,9

  8. My identity in Christ: • Being • Becoming

  9. “Growing draws us into a deep and fascinating exploration of what it means to belong to God, an adventure that engages us at all times and on all levels….the path of our growth leads right through the path of our individuality. As we are transformed by the power of His grace, we are enabled to take hold of the gift of our distinctiveness in a new way. We begin to realize the unique plans and purposes which we have been carefully designed by God to fulfil, and to accept the invitation God holds out to use our individuality for the glory of His name.” Janine Fair

  10. What inhibits claiming my identity? • Losing sight of grace • Emotions • Baggage • Burnout

  11. How do we move forward? • Remember the Word • Practice the Presence • Worship
