COMMUNITY MOBILISATION

The Rajiv Vidya Mission (SSA) in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh aims to enhance school governance through School Management Committees (SMCs). Each SMC is constituted in every school, with a Chairperson elected from local leaders and a Vice-Chairperson from among parents. The committee consists of members including ward members, parents, and special invitees, promoting active participation from the community. Regular monthly meetings and elections every two years ensure continuous engagement in monitoring school performance and utilizing funds effectively, thereby ensuring quality education for all children.

ORGANOGRAM School Management Committee (SMC) (Shall be constituted in every school other than an un-aided school within its jurisdiction) Chairperson (Sarpanch of G.P / Councilor / Corporator) Vice-Chairperson (One of the parent members) Member convener Member (Ward member) Members (Parents /guardians) Special invitees Rajiv Vidya Mission (SSA) Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

  3. II. Composition of SMC Chairperson: • Sarpanch shall be the Chairperson in rural areas • Councilor / Corporator shall be the Chairperson in Municipal areas. Vice – Chairperson: • Committee will be elected from amongst the parent community. • If Chairperson is not from the SC or ST or BC the Vice-Chairperson shall be from any of these classes Rajiv Vidya Mission (SSA) Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

Functions / Duties of SMC • Monitor the working of the school • Prepare and recommend SDP • Monitor the utilization of the grants received from the appropriate Government or local authority or any other source. • Perform such other function as may be prescribed Rajiv Vidya Mission (SSA) Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh
