  3. Human Impact • Forest clearings to build homes • Sugar plantations • Introduction of alien species such as deer • Tourism has lead to the clearing of ecosystems in order for golf courses, roads, and other facilities

ConservationActions • 13 percent of the land is being protected • Much more enforcement is need to protect it • Groups of citizens as well as larger corporations are coming together to conserve the biodiversity of the Caribbeans Islands • Groups include: Bahamas National Trust and National Parks Foundation • Enhanced by tourists and governmental organizations that help to maintain environment protection
