  1. ACTION PLAN MRS. YASMIN AZIZ D.A Public School ‘O’ & ‘A’ Levels Geography, Grade VII

  2. Short Term Goals • Engage the students actively during class discussions to encourage creative thought, spontaneity and boost confidence. • Encourage regular map work to develop a better understanding of world geography, followed by interesting tid-bits about the countries which seem appealing to them. • Enlighten the students with information that aids them in understanding more about the natural geography of their home country- topography, climate, and other related factors.

  3. Long Term Goal • Adopt 21st Century teaching approaches to facilitate a broad understanding of Geography, and to create interest in the subject for students.

  4. I will begin my lectures with motivational questions, so that even before a topic begins, the student is actively engaged in it. I will encourage group discussions and group map work. This will allow them to work as a team to draw/ learn difficult map work which would pose problems indiviually. Students will be asked to research and vigorously attempt home assignments for an in-depth understanding. I will ask students to share their knowledge about certain countries and/or encourage them to find our more about the modern world. Instructional Strategies and Tasks

  5. Challenges My syllabus may not be completed in time because of the detail in which I plan to teach. Some children may not be productive during group discussion and may be rowdy. Parents may object to new teaching methods. Multimedia might be a difficult facility to utilize in the classroom. Solutions I will be selective with my syllabus and give extra classes on Saturdays if necessary to carry out other engaging activities. I will provide after school counseling for rowdy students and try to get to the core of their problems. I will use my newly acquired word processing skills to print a newsletter and send it to parents. I will bring students to the computer lab where they will be shown multimedia presentations. Solutions to Anticipated Challenges
