  2. Monday, August 7, 2017 • 1.  What is history in your own words?  Civilization?   • 2. What are some important events in the lives of families?

  3. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 • 1.  How do we keep track of time during the day?  a month? a year? more than a year?   • 2.  Think of five things you did this summer.  How can you visually depict those activities to explain to someone?  

  4. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 • 1.  How would history be different without invention of writing?   • 2.  What type of history interests you the most?  Why?

Tuesday, August 15, 2017 • 1.  Think about our present day artifacts:  newspapers, cellphones, music players, microwaves, cars, etc.  What do you believe these objects reflect about our culture and who we are as a people?   • 2. If a historian finds a saddle and horseshoes, what does that tell him or her about the culture. • 3.  Which sources are more likely to have bias:  primary or secondary?  Why is bias a problem for historians?

  8. Friday, August 18, 2017 • Read aloud page 12: What is Point of View? • 1. What might be the point of view of a historian hired by a ruler? • 2. What might be the point of view of one of the king’s enemies?
