  2. What is the LC Quality Assurance Committee? A support group to oversee and review the implementation of the LC’s quality management procedures.

  3. Key Responsibilities • Performance evaluation • Performance enhancement • Assuring academic standards & quality • Documenting evidence • Preparing for accreditation at program and institutional level • Liaising with the University Quality Assurance Office

  4. Performance Evaluation: Program Review • Surveys about: • Learning outcomes (LOs) covered • Materials used to cover the curriculum and LOs • Assessment procedures followed • Students’ performance • Curriculum mapping • Identifying gaps • Generating evidence list • Assessing policies and procedures

  5. Performance Enhancement • Recommending ways to overcome the gaps • Incorporating teachers’ and students’ feedback • Standardizing procedures at the LC • Working on future action plan

  6. Assuring Academic Standards and Quality • Developing self-evaluation system for the programs • Maintaining academic regulations • Implementing policies and procedures consistently • Collecting evidence

  7. Other Responsibilities • Raising awareness about quality assurance in LC community • Generating periodic reports for the University QAO and the LC • Representing QAC in all important committees • Overseeing: • Appeals procedures for grade review • Students’ representation in LC committees • Implementation of plagiarism policy

  8. How LC Staff Can Contribute • Familiarize yourself with • FPEL and/or CEPL curriculum document • Staff handbook • Be informed about • Learning outcomes at your program level • General policies and procedures followed by your program and by the LC • Implement the policies at program level • Participate in feedback surveys • When in doubt, ask for clarification
