About him… David Gulparil Gulpilil was born on the 1st of July 1953. He is from the Northern Territory in a little place called Arnhem Land. He’s a traditional Aboriginal Dancer and an actor. This is where Arnhem Land is on a map of Northern Territory
First time in the spotlight… His first movie was called Walkabout. It’s about how Aboriginal boys became Aboriginal men. How they live in the wild and hunt for food. This is the cover of the movie
Life behind bars… On the 9th of July 2006 David was drinking with friends and his family has a “no alcohol policy” so he got in a fight and his friends used a garden hoe and totem pole. David armed himself with a machete and got charged. In December 2010 he got charged for throwing a broom and fracturing Ashley's arm. In September 2011 he was found guilty and was sent to jail for 12 months.
