While working with Internet, illegal web sites can be a threat to teenagers. These websites also transfer some dangerous viruses which can damage the users' computer. Sajedeh Soleimani

9. Dear friends from Saba high school, Your project idea was interesting as it is one of the most important subjects in our world these days. You asked how we can be sure about the safety of websites , well I think the most important theme is trying to give enough info to teenagers about the problems they would face in some websites, in that way, they will act correctly by themselves toward these kinds of subjects. You see most of the time we cant check all parts of a website to make sure it is completely ok! Without any problem!!! , it is difficult & if all the time we our self try to hide this problems from teenagers, someday they will face these kinds, then if they have serious prob, it is our fault!!! I agree with this method that net without any safety will make problem not only forteenagers but for anyone who go on his way in this theme. You asked about helping teenagers to access positive resources, I believe we should try to teach them how to search in net or how to access useful web logs, This is a reality that after a period that everyone uses net he will find how to work onit. If he is as adventures as I am!!!

10. I think the result of having this theme with teenagers is that they haven’t learnt “Net Literacy” skills. We all know most of theteenagers don’t know the advantage of net, they just use chat rooms! It is a shame! Believe me! But how, how can do it? Maybe the best choice is trying to teach them in schools as it is the place where teenagers spend most of their time in. About some special websites, filtering is the best choice, but not as many sites as are filtered in Iran!!! Now about chatting, it is not that much good or bad if we are a mediocre. It depends on the one who is chatting, propose he has & so on. You see some chat rooms are really made on bad purpose , surly the one who spends his time on talking about some wrong themes , will be influenced by these kinds, it is dangerous for his life, isn’t it? But some times chat is a very good way to know more about different cultures, different people, & for some bodies it is the way to improve some skills! Internet has a lot of advantages for them but it has some bad influences too. That can endanger the society health. Panda Anti Virus Company that works on the safety of internet notified that the most internet crimes that the children are the victims of them are the generic felonies. Also, the result of the researches that have been done by some NGOs points out that the half of the children almost don't have knowledge to using internet in a safe way. I think parents don't know how to manage their children’s’ net time, either. Nowadays, unmoral websites is a very big problem. For instance chatting in internet may cause some relations that can be so harmful since people with wicked intentions don’t introduce themselves honestly. I think other detriments of using internet for teenagers are depression and psychical diseases. In my estimation if the dangerous websites were filtered the children could use internet so better.

15. Hello Shadi and Kiana, I agree when you say that prejudice does not let the mind choose freely. It seems that the mind is blocked because people have such narrow views and that is why they are prejudiced. They live in their own little worlds and shut out the rest. I have some more questions. Why is the world prejudiced against certain religions, like the Islam? Why are they prejudiced when women wear burqas? Why do people look down on others when they cannot express themselves well in a foreign language? How can we teach these people to be different? 18. Bonnie Olsson I think viruses and hackers are the biggest threat to teenagers at the moment. Chat rooms are very dangerous because you have no idea who you are talking to. Even if they say it’s a 12 year old boy who would love to meet up with you it could actually be a 40 year old man who wants to take advantage of you. Msn messenger on the other hand is pretty safe because you know all the people you are having a conversation with.

19. Fallon, Shanta, Moreno We have experienced a sad incidence in our school some years ago. A student committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree. Later on we heard that this student had become totally obsessed with a certain website on the internet where they promote satanic practices. All the teachers and students were shocked when they heard what had happened. Even today nobody has forgotten this incidence and teachers always use him as an example to point out what the dangers of the internet can be.     So although the internet has countless opportunities to get information and to learn about everything, parents should be alert and should know what their children are doing, which they are chatting with and what they are chatting about. This is the only way to protect them. Communication with their children is also important, because if a child senses a certain danger on the net, he/she should not be afraid to discuss this with his/her parents.

24. We think that like everything in life, chatting also has advantages and disadvantages. It is up to us what we do with it. Of course there are bad people in the chat room who want to trick us, but there are good people like you and us as well who want to communicate with others than their own friends alone. The good people want to share their stories and experiences with the world, they want to learn more about the world than their own country and people alone. WE don't see any harm in this. The big question is: how do you know who has good intentions and who has bad intensions? We think that the moment your chat partner becomes personal, you should be on the look out and even stop chatting. Or if you feel uncomfortable somehow, stop immediately. It is said that your intuition is your best friend, so the moment you get the queasy feeling something is not right. 25. Hi Dear Students from Saba School, Here is what I've written about "Chatting" Next to email, the most popular activity on the net is chatting. And if you ask someone what they enjoy most about the internet, chances are they will answer that they like to chat. This seems especially true of the younger generation. Some people chat for entertainment, some chat for killing time or pastime, some chat for making friends, some chat for inquiring welfare about their relatives, some to gain knowledge and information and many more. As every thing has some advantages as well as disadvantages, chatting through Internet has also some advantages and disadvantages. First of all, one advantage is for those relatives or friends who are living abroad. They can remain in touch with their families and associates and can talk to them. It is useful for those parents whose children are abroad for studying or some other purposes. They become satisfied after talking to their children. There exists another kind of friendship and that is friendship over Internet. People also get knowledge about other cultures through the chatting. There are a lot of more advantages of chatting. The biggest disadvantage of chatting, in my opinion is the wastage of time. And majority of users do chatting for just pastime or cheating others. 26. We’re Pegah & Shima and find the internet really useful with our school work and catching up with our friends. Chat can be a lot of fun for us and tremendously valuable. If you're in a classroom here in Iran and talking to students on the other side of the world in Australia or Suriname through chat - what other way could you afford to do this? However, we need to be aware of the fact that just as there are strangers in the offline world who we want to avoid, the same occurs in the online world. Flaming is one of the worse disadvantages for chatting on-line. Okay, so you have some spare time and go into the 'net' to chat. Some people just get on-line with bad intentions and start flame wars with everyone or against anyone. Others do feel insulted sometimes and might have a bad day, as a result .
