  1. T L S Is Love The Only Command? A New Testament Look at the 10 Commandments May 24, 2012

  2. Is Love the Only Command? Really? In many conversations with Christians I have found that they absolutely want nothing to do with keeping the laws of efei One of the most famous quotes I get is “All I need to do is love”

  3. Is Love the Only Command? Some have suggested that this comes from John’s writings about the commandments in which he only states that Christians should love one another

  4. Is Love the Only Command? “And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Yeshua Messiah, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” 1st John 3:23 “And this commandment have we from him, That he who lovethElohimlove his brother also.” 1st John 4:21

  5. Is Love the Only Command? • But John also wrote: “By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim, and keep his commandments.” 1st John 5:2 • What about Paul and James? • Both Paul and James made it clear that you must keep His commandments in order to love your brother / neighbor

  6. Is Love the Only Command? “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” Romans 13:8-10

  7. Is Love the Only Command? Confusing “If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.” James 2:8-11

  8. Is Love the Only Command? “Yes indeed, it is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: "Love your neighbor as yourself." But if you favor some people over others, you are committing a sin. You are guilty of breaking the law. For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God's laws. For the same God who said, "You must not commit adultery," also said, "You must not murder." So if you murder someone but do not commit adultery, you have still broken the law.” James 2:8-11 (NLT)

  9. John Makes it Clear Let’s see what John thinks of the 10 Commandments “And Elohimspakeall these words, saying, I am efeithy Elohim, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” Exodus 20:1-2

  10. Commandment 1 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3

  11. Commandment 1 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1st John 2:15 Put nothing in the world before efei

  12. Commandment 1 “…If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of Elohim,…” Revelation 14:9b-10a

  13. Commandment 1 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yeshua, and for the word of Elohim, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Messiah a thousand years” Revelation 20:4

  14. Commandment 1 “But the…unbelieving…shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8

  15. Commandment 2 “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I efeithy Elohimam a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments” Exodus 20:4-6

  16. Commandment 2 “Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.” 1st John 5:21 “But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.” Revelation 2:14

  17. Commandment 2 “Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.” Revelation 2:20

  18. Commandment 2 “And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk.” Revelation 9:20

  25. Commandment 4 “And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of Elohim.” Acts 13:42-43

  26. Commandment 4 This was about 22 years after Yeshua’s resurrection! “Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,…” Acts 17:1-2
