  1. Naming Compounds=“Counting Stars” By: Kristina W. and Molly G.

  2. Lately I been, I been losing sleepDreaming about getting all “A”s and “B”sBut baby, I been, I been prayin' hardSo I’m not gonna fail this testCause we'll be studying hardYeah, we'll be naming compounds

  3. I see this compound • (FeSO4)Is it ionic or is it covalentin my face is flashing signs • it has nonmetal and a metal

  4. must be ionicGotta use roman numeralsAnd add –ide at the endI'm just doing what we're told

  5. I know SO4 has a charge of 2And I know then that Iron also has a charge of 2I know, SO4, has to stay sulfateFeSO4 is iron (II) Sulfate

  6. If the ionic compound was polyatomic • We would leave it alone • And if it was normal • We would add –ide to the nonmetal

  7. Lately I been, I been losing sleepDreaming about getting all “A”’s and “B”’sBut baby, I been, I been prayin' hardSo I’m not gonna fail this testCause we'll be, we’ll be studying hard

  8. but if it was a hydratewe would take the compound then adda prefix in front of hydratefor examplethisLiClO4 ·3H2O

  9. is: lithium perchloratetrihydrateAnd if the compound was covalentwe would need to know if it had an “H” in front

  10. And If it was normal we would just use prefixes • And add –ide at the end I couldn't lie, couldn't lie, couldn’t liemaybe naming compounds isn’t that bad

  11. Lately I been, I been losing sleepDreaming about getting all “A”s and “B”sBut baby, I been, I been prayin' hardSo I’m not gonna fail this testCause we'll be studying hard

  12. If there was an H in front (hey!)It could be binary with hydro- in front and -ic acid at the end • But if it was an oxyacid (hey!)You need to change the end from -ite to -ousor -ate to -ic

  13. Oh, oh, oh.[Bridge 4x:]Take that study guideWatch it burnSing in the riverThe lessons I learned

  14. Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

  15. To find the Ionic formula(hey!)Identify the charges and criss crossbut to find the formula for covalent compounds (hey!)if there is a prefix no criss crossbut if there is an acid criss crossLately I been, I been losing sleepDreaming about getting “A”s and “B”sBut baby, I been, I been prayin' hardSaid we’re not gonna fail this testWe'll be, we'll be studying hard
