  2. Aix-Marseilles School of Economics • AMSE is an international centre of excellence in Economics • It merges three research institutes: GREQAM, DEFI and INSERM • It is funded by a large endowment that covers the period 2011-2020 • It runs a two-year Master program

  3. Master goals • Offerhigh-level courses in the main AMSE expertise areas • Development, Econometrics, Public Economics, Environment, Finance / Insurance, Macroeconomics, EconomicPhilosophy, Health • Train more than 100 students per yearwith job perspectives in teaching and research, business, public administration and international organizations • Select PhDstudents for the doctoral school

  4. 1st-year M1 • The M1 provides a general programme in Economics • It promotes quantitative methods and applications to different market situations • Students choose a field of specialization by the end of the second term: Macroeconomics and Development, Econometrics, Public Economics, Finance

  5. 2nd-year M2 • The M2 is divided into 4 main fiels of specialization and offers 9 different programmes • Macroeconomics and Development: Macroeconomics and growth, Development • Econometrics • Public Economics: Public Policy Evaluation, Environment, Health, Economic Philosophy • Finance: Finance and Insurance, Banking and Financial Economics

  6. Teaching language • All M1 courses are given in French AND in English • Each course is given twice • All M2 courses are given in English • All slides are available in pdf format • Exams can be passed in French or in English

  7. Maths • The Master promotes economic modeling • Models are applied to real-world issues and datasets • The Master is for students who have excellent aptitudes in learning analytical and quantitative tools

  8. PhD programme • Students can access the PhD programme after they have completed the Master programme • Students are selected • They need to write a Master dissertation during the M2
