Why STARS

2. STARS Alliance at FSU • One of Eighteen different schools in the Southeast with the program. • STARS aims to recruit, bridge, and graduate students from underrepresented groups in computing. • What we were asked to do: • We were tasked with creating three different videos to promote the STARS Alliance.

3. Planning • In order to complete task we planned to create videos in two week production windows: • Video 1 was due July 1st. • Video 2 was due July 15th. • Video 3 is due July 29th. • We felt this gave us adequate time to complete each video and put out a solid product.

4. Our Goals • Ultimately we want these videos to stir interest in computing and the STARS Alliance at FSU. • What have we accomplished? • We have created one video and we are in the process of editing and shooting the second and third videos. • By the end of the month we will have all videos completed and submitted.

5. Measuring those Goals • We are going to measure our success based on the amount of YouTube views. • The current Why IT/ICT/STARS videos range from 30 to 288 views. • We are aiming for at least 150 views for each of our videos six months after uploading.

7. Complications • Difficulties Encountered: • Scheduling • Time Management • Getting the group together to film • Editing videos as a group • Completing videos by due date

8. The Future of Why STARS • The STARS Alliance performs excellent work with the community. • More Why STARS videos means more exposure. • We want STARS to gain greater exposure within the school and the community. • We hope these videos ultimately achieve this goal.
