So What Can You Do? • Write a letter to a girl or boy your age telling him/her how to avoid developing body image issues. • Use any information we have talked about today. • The goal is to help her understand the things he/she can do, say, avoid, or learn that will help him/her develop or maintain a positive body image. • Look beyond the physical at who people are

Oranges, Carrots, Yams, Sweet Potatoes, Bell Peppers, Pumpkin, Cantaloupe, Nectarines, Peaches Banana, Bell Peppers, Squash, Mango, Onion, Lemons, Pineapples Spinach, Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Celery, Asparagus, Artichoke, Avocado, Kale, Lettuce, Cabbage, Green Beans, Peas, Kiwi, Apples Blueberries Eggplant, grapes, plums, prunes, blackberries, marionberries

Easy Changes for a Healthy Diet! • Drink 1% or non-fat milk instead of 2% • Choose brown rice over white rice • Choose a whole wheat tortilla over a flour tortilla • Cook with olive or canola oil instead of butter • Eat an orange instead of drinking a glass or orange juice • Choose a glass of water over a soda • Eat a cup of frozen yogurt instead of a bowl of ice cream • Choosing baked chips instead of regular

  17. Active Lifestyle • 60 min+ of moderate to vigorous activity at least 3 days per week • Playing volleyball, basketball, soccer, football • Go for a run • Play a game of capture the flag • Jump rope • Ride a skateboard or scooter

  18. Other Ways to Be Active! • Take a walk during lunch break • Take the stairs in the building • Do jumping jacks during the commercials of your favorite TV show • Clean your closet or room (you’d be surprised how much exercise this one is!) • Go for a bike ride with a friend
