Pg. 210 (1-5). 1. (a) The individuals in the data set are the make and model of 2004 motor vehicles. (b) The variables are vehicle type, transmission type, number of cylinders, city MPG, and highway MPG. Histograms would be helpful for cylinders (maybe), and the two MPGs (certainly).

  1. Pg. 210 (1-5) 1. (a) The individuals in the data set are the make and model of 2004 motor vehicles. (b) The variables are vehicle type, transmission type, number of cylinders, city MPG, and highway MPG. Histograms would be helpful for cylinders (maybe), and the two MPGs (certainly). 2. The distribution is skewed to the right. Shakespeare uses many words of two, three, and four letters and a few long words (10, 11, and 12 letters). Most English prose will show a similarly shaped distribution of word lengths because so many common words (I, you, him, her, and, or, not,…) are short.
