  2. Antimony increases the hardness and tensile strength of lead.

  3. Type metals are lead-tin-antimony alloys that are used primarily in the printing industry.

  4. Linotypes have compositions close to the ternary Pb-Sn-Sb eutectic and produce a short freezing range and low melting point.

  5. There is a wide range in the corrosion resistance of chemical lead.

  6. Tin is alloyed with lead to produce solders that have lower melting points than either tin or lead.

  7. The microstructure of tin-base babbittexhibits a soft matrix of Sn-Sb eutectic containing hard SnSb cuboids and Cu6Sn5 needles. The lead-base babbittexhibits a soft matrix of Pb-Sn-Sb eutectic containing hard primary Sb-Snphase.

  8. The demand for hot-dip galvanizing has varied over the years, but remains high.

  9. The major zinc die casting alloys are AG40A and AC41A.

  10. The life expectancy of galvanizing coatings is dependent on the type of service environment.
