  6. 4-year studies • Regular courses in semesters 1-3 + invited lectures/seminars (industrial partners, academic partners) • PhD seminar in each semester (1-7)

  7. Mandatory industrial internship (2 months) • Mandatory academic/non-academic training abroad (one semester) • Enterpreneurship element (ESADE or local)

  8. Schematic overview of the programme

  9. Thematic fields: • technologies of CO2 removal • technologies of chemical sequestration of CO2 • oxy-fuel combustion + methods of oxygen separation • gasification of coal • gasification of biomass

  10. Thematic fields continued: • nuclear-coal synergy • fuel cells – application in energy sector • environmental protection in fuel and energy sectors • energy and environmental economics • energy management and policy

  11. Program based on active forms of learning • Active participation of the student in PhD project • PhD seminars in each semester • Didactic course (workshop) • internships

Learning outcomes of the program Qualifications Framework for the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), are: "Qualifications that signify completion of the third cycle are awarded to students who: 1.       have demonstrated a systematic understanding of a field of study and mastery of the skills and methods of research associated with that field;

  13. 2.       have demonstrated the ability to conceive, design, implement and adapt a substantial process of research with scholarly integrity; 3.       have made a contribution through original research that extends the frontier of knowledge by developing a substantial body of work, some of which merits national or international refereed publication

  14. 4.       are capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas 5.       can communicate with their peers, the larger scholarly community and with society in general about their areas of expertise 6.       can be expected to be able to promote, within academic and professional contexts, technological, social or cultural advancement in a knowledge based society." All requirements are fulfilled by PhD program!
