  1. I would like to share some knowledge about safety tips if earthquake occurs. Here is some earthquake safety tips that can help keep you and your family safe if things start shaking! EARTH QUAKE KIT

  2. If you feel an earthquake starting and you are in your house, get over in the corner of the room away from windows, large mirrors and shelves and then duck, cover and hold until the shaking stops and you’re sure it’s safe to exit.

  3. If you feel an earthquake starting and your in your school, get under you desk and then Duck, cover and hold until the shaking stops and follow the school emergency plan.

  4. If your feel an earthquake starting and your in your outside, get out in the open spot away from buildings, trees, power lines, and overpasses and then Duck, Cover and hold until the shaking stops.

  5. Know how and when to call police, or fire department and which radio station to tune to for emergency information.

  6. If your house uses natural gas, remind your parents learn where to turn if off after a quake hits. Also remind them that electricity and water should be turned off after the quake as well.

  7. Also, after the quake, check yourself for injuries and protect yourself from further harm by putting on long pants, a long sleeved shirt, sturdy shoes, and work gloves if you have them

  8. Take a first Aid course so you can check others for injuries and administer first aid if necessary.

  9. Put together an Earthquake Kit. Supplies should include: A Flashlight Extra batteries Portable battery –operated radio First aid kit and first aid manual Canned Food At least three gallons of water per person Non-electric can opener Essential medicines (including prescription medications) Protective clothing and rainwear Sleeping bag Sturdy shoes

  10. Be cautious after an earthquake. Stay out of damaged buildings especially if due to aftershocks. Leave the area if you smell gas or fumes the chemicals. Ask your elders to help you make a Emergency Escape Plan for your home, to use after the quake.

  11. Make sure that everyone knows where to meet and most importantly practice your escape plan on regular basis! Finally
