  2. Equal Justice Works 2013 Awards Dinner • Wednesday, October 23, 2013 • Reception: 6:00pm • Dinner: 7:15pm – 9:30pm • Renaissance Downtown Hotel • 999 9th Street NW • Honoring Cam Findlay, GC of ADM

  3. Logistics • Travel to the dinner via bus • Meeting at 5:00 pm in the lobby • Reception at 6:00pm • VIP and General • Dinner at 7:15pm • Dinner program • Table seating assignments • Last bus will leave 15 minutes after dinner ends

  4. Why Is the Dinner so Important? • Because of you! • You are our stars and ambassadors • What your presence brings: • Awareness to access to justice issues • Investment in our programs • Fundraising over $2.5 million

  5. Make the Dinner Work for You! • Spending time with your sponsor • New representatives from the firm/corporation • Networking with other guests • Preparing beforehand with research

  6. Dinner Preparation • Most firms/companies have online bios • Think of good questions to ask • This applies even if you already know your sponsor! • How did this person’s career develop? • Is he/she involved in pro bono or community service? • If so, how did he/she start involvement? • What is his/her familiarity with Equal Justice Works? • Does the firm/corporation/organization sponsor? • Has this person attended the dinner before?

Text to Give - Equal Justice Works Fellowship • Goals • Create a new fellowship for the class of 2014 • Give individuals at all giving levels the opportunity to participate in sponsoring a fellow • How does it work? • Anyone can text in amounts, from $15- $5,000 • What can you do to help? • Be an ambassador for Equal Justice Works • Encourage others or pretend to text

  8. Remember: Tonight you are ambassadors for Equal Justice Works. But don’t forget: you are also ambassadors for yourself, your fellowship project and your host organization. Lastly – HAVE FUN!!!
