    • Includes programme and portfolio management

    • Takes a functional rather than topic based approach

  • Utilising the APM SIGs with the authoring, along with other subject matter experts, with extensive reviews by the project community.

APM is testing the ‘chartered’ standard and assessment processes. The name for the pilot is APM Registered Project Professional.

Professional Qualities

Commitment to CPDCommitment to Code of ConductResponsible Leadership

MAPM Knowledge = Has an understanding of how the competence element could be practised within a single project

RPP Knowledge = Has a good understanding of how the competence element could be practised within a complex project and can evaluate and adapt as required

RPP Experience = Has managed others practising the competence element in a complex project

Knowledge:

Operating at minimum RPP Knowledge level across all Core Competences and MAPM across remainder of competences

Experience:

Operating at minimum RPP Experience level across all Core Competences

Those that are awarded the new standard :

“.....will demonstrate the capabilities of a responsible leader, have the ability to manage a complex project and the ability to use appropriate tools, processes and techniques ”

This status will confirm their :

  • Breadth of understanding as defined by the APM Body of Knowledge

  • Depth of understanding in line with the APM competence framework

  • Achievement through professional qualifications and a portfolio of evidence

  • Commitment through continuing professional development

  • Accountability through APM membership and code of professional conduct

    • Submit portfolios of evidence – end of May

    • Complete peer interviews – end of June

    • Complete Stage 1 feedback and recommendations – mid August

    • Complete Stage 2 feedback and recommendations – end November

  • Stage 3 :

    • Submit portfolios of evidence – early December

    • Complete peer interviews – mid to late January

    • Complete Stage 3 feedback and recommendations – early February

    • Recommendation of “fit-to-go” for launch – mid February

    • Limited opportunities to take part in Phase 3, particularly for Branch and SIG representatives
