  2. Protein • Proteins are macromolecules. • Meats, and dairy products, beans, and nuts all tie into protein. • Protein make up your muscles and immune system 50-60% • Proteins are essential nutrients. • Proteins are structured nutrients. • The structure of cells are embedded in proteins.

  3. Water *Is a substance of hydrogen and oxygen, which is essential for all humans. *Most people need 5-8 glasses a day, 8 can reduce the risk of colon cancer by 45% *80% of all muscles are water. *75% of the human body is water *The base of liquid is surrounding the joints is water-based. *Regulates metabolism *Even mild lack of water results in daily fatigue. *Water contains natural minerals everyone needs.

  4. Vitamins • Vitamins are definitely an essential nutrient. • Vitamins include: A,C,D,E,K. Also: B6, and B12, and quite some more. • Vitamins cannot derive from the body. So we either take pills, but most come from the food we eat: vitamin supplements. • Vitamins are bid on prevention of illness, and treating illness.

  5. Fats • Fats keep you at a neutral temperature. • Fats come in solid and liquid form in normal room temperature. • Fats are generally made up of glycerol and fatty acids. • Make sure not to have too much fat in your diet, it will eventually cause high cholesterol, which may result in a heart attack. • An example of food with high fat is junk food: donuts. • Total fat intake should only be 25-30% of your daily calories

Fibres • Fibre is a very complex type of carbohydrate that cannot be digested, also, it’s very good for your overall health. • Fibre is found in plants, fruits, vegetables. • A healthy amount of fibre daily is 26-35 grams daily, though the average Canadian only consumes 4.5-11 grams daily. • Different types of fibre are Soluble Fibre; which breaks down in water forming a soft gel (low cholesterol). And Insoluble Fibre; doesn’t break down in water, it’s very sponge like, absorbing multiple times it’s weight in water.

  7. Carbohydrates * *Carbohydrates are one of the main sources of fuel/energy. *Carbohydrates can be complex; starches. Or simple; sugars. Random foods containing carbohydrates are: sugars, bread, cereal, rice, potatoes, pasta etc. • A good serving of carbohydrates are approx. • *Carbohydrates if eaten in a healthy manner, are a very good source of food, providing energy.

  8. Minerals • Minerals are an essential nutrient in which derive from the earth and water. • Types of minerals are: Calcium, Copper, Chromium, Iodine, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, and Phosphorus. • Minerals help activate vitamins, cells, and tissue, they help structure the process of healing. • Minerals play a role in preventing cancer, and heart disease. And plainly staying healthy.
