  3. Othniel : Chapter 3 • Leadership Characteristic: Courage • Doing what you know is right, in spite of what everyone else thinks. • Being obedient to God and trusting Him for the victory, no matter how discouraging the situation may be.

  4. Ehud: Chapter 4 • Willingness to stand alone • There will be times when your decisions will be opposed. • Be obedient to God and confident in the decisions that God desires you to make.

  5. Shamgar: Chapter 5 • Ability Devoted to God’s Service • The abilities God gives to us should be used for His service. • We are to be good stewards of the gifts God gives us.

  6. Deborah: Chapter 6 • Spiritual Commitment • Willingness to trust God • Not using position to get what you want, but focusing on what God wants to accomplish. • Giving praise to God for the victory.

  7. Gideon: Chapters 7 – 8 • Maintaining a Godly Testimony at Home • True test of character is demonstrated around those who know you best. • Our reputation must be one that people trust. • Large Numbers are Not Needed for Great Results. • Success is dependent upon God

Abimelech: Chapter 9 • Sin leads to more sin • A lust for power can lead to wicked actions • Evil plans will eventually be discovered • People must be careful when they choose a leader • We reap what we sow • Three principles of reaping 1. You will reap more than you sow 2. You will reap later than you sow 3.

Samson: Chapter 13-14 • Failure To Do What’s Right Bring Disaster • Disobedience and compromise can destroy • Our words and actions are watched carefully by others. • Our position of leadership does not justify disobedience or compromise. • God Gives Us Talents for Use In His Service • God expects us to use our talents to serve Him. • We cannot be blessed if we use our talents/strengths for selfish reasons.

  13. Eli: Chapter 15 • The Importance of Parental Responsibility • Parents are accountable for the sinful behavior of their children • Even the work of God is not an excuse to neglect the disciplining of children

Samuel: Chapter 16 – 17 • Viewing Obstacles in the Proper Light • Look beyond the obstacles and see the greatness of God. • There is no obstacle too big for God • Maintaining One’s Honor • Remember that God is in control no matter what happens • When things don’t go your way, avoid rebelling or seeking revenge • Humbly seek God’s guidance
