  1. Planit.Com • An internet based company that connects those planning formal events, mainly weddings, to caterers, florists, bridal galleries, and venues for the events. • Planit.com also offers helpful hints, calendars, layouts, and do-it-yourself ideas to assist planners in planning their ideal event. • A yearly fee will be collected from both the vendors and the planners in order to gain access to the company website. • Vendors will be required to have their own website, with online ordering available so that the planner can easily keep track of their purchases and plans in one place. • After an event has happened, those plans will be placed into a data base to create additional assistance to future planners.

  2. How It Works Planners Vendors • Pay a fee to be included in categorical searches conducted by planners. • Planners will be able to view the vendor information, products, and pricing based on their geographical location. • Vendors will be charged a small transaction fee for any purchases made by planners using the website. • Create an account to begin creating their events. • Accounts will keep track of, and organize information such as guest lists, budgets, timelines, seating charts, menus, purchases, and design ideas. • Planners will be able to connect with vendors in their local area (or venue area) to find and order products.

  3. The Budget • The year end total of costs is $25,100.00 • Planners pay $50.00 for one year of access to the site. • Vendors pay $2,500 per year to be listed in search results for their area. • 10 vendors and 2 planner will let the company break even in the first year of business. This is very attainable if one considers the number of different vendors needed to cater, decorate, and plan an event.

  4. S.W.O.T. Analysis Weaknesses: Slow start up for lack of aggregated information Services available without internet Strengths: Ability to grow quickly Mobile accessibility Easy to use Opportunities: • User comments can change how things work • Offer services for events other than weddings Threats: • Easy for other companies to copy • Negative user testimonials • Lack of users to build databases
