The woman has shown great love and generosity to me personally. This sign of her love will be remembered for ever. The woman is understands that my death is approaching, and is preparing me for my burial. This is a prophetic action. By anointing me, the woman is pointing to the fact that I am the Messiah – the Anointed one - showing this to others. The woman has understood the uniqueness of who I am. “You have the poor with you always, but you will not always have Me.”
