  2. A gander with glossyfeathers, Whilecrossing the village bridgeCarryinghisslippers in onepaw,I do notknowhowthatcouldhappenbuthe droppedtheminto water.

  3. What a shame, oh, what a pity! For theywereexquisite, Theyhaveneverneededmending. What a shame!

  4. Whenall the othergeeseheardhimscreaming: «Oh, dear! Oh, dear! My slippers!» Theyranall in a breath To askhimwonderingly: «Whathappened?»

  5. «I wastedfourpreciouscoins». Said the gandercryingaloud! Here I ambarefoot, poor me! Whatam I going to do now, withoutthem?!»

  6. «Come on everyone, oldganders and geese. Let’s look for them on the river!» Quicklyswimming with theirpaws, the gagglewent down the river.

  7. «Haveyoufoundthem?» – «I havenot, sister. Whatcameintoyou to ask me that?!» Then, theyallsuddenlycried: «Goddamnthem! I haven’tfoundthem, either!»

  8. Theykeptlookingallsummer long, Buttheycouldn’tfind the slippersanywhere! And theywill look for them the nextsummer, aswelluntiltheyfindthem!

  9. And the gandercomes and goes, making cross signs and fasting. «I stillcan’tfindthem! Poor me! And I’mwalkingbarefoot, asyou can see, what a to-do!»

  10. Eversincethen, the geeseslowly start searching, Every time theylayeyes on water, Stillbelievingthattheywouldfind the gander’sslippers.

  11. Evenducks come to help them: «Quack, quack, quack! Honk, honk, honk! Quack, quack, quack!» In shuttlingmotion, Wastingdaysseeking on the river! «Honk, honk, honk!»

  12. And if the geese are allgathered and youaccidently cross pastthem, Theyblazeawayatyouasking: «Whatdidyoubringus? Haveyoufound the slippers? Tellus!»

  13. It’sbetter to flingyourheels right that moment! Becausetheymaybiteyou in order to just find out Anythingabout the gander’sslippers!
